Athletics

ICCS offers the following opportunities for
athletic involvement to the students.
Pep Squad (grades 4-8)
Cheerleaders (grades 7-8)
Volleyball (grades 7-8)
Track (grades 5-8)
Basketball (grades 5-8)
Football (grades 6-8

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

ICCS recognizes the need for developing the ?whole? child by teaching them skills achieved through leadership, working in groups, and service to community. Listed below are clubs and organizations available to our student body.

Altar Servers

Students are trained to assist clergy with various celebrations including Masses, funerals, and Paraliturgies for the Cathedral Parish as well as school

Athletic Program

Students participate in Volleyball, Basketball, Football, and Track through the Calcasieu Catholic Athletic League (CCAL), an athletic program for member schools that fosters self-esteem in students as part of their well-rounded education program

Students lead singing at Masses and Paraliturgies

Chess Club

Students compete in area chess tournaments

Class Service Projects

PK-8

Grade level service projects each semester provide students with opportunities to learn about helping others.Various agencies involved include: St Patrick Hospital, The Gardens and Villa Maria Retirement Centers, Women's Shelter, New Life Counseling Center, Abraham's Tent, and Center for the Advancement of Retarded Citizenship (CARE)

Flag/Safety Patrol

Students help with loading/unloading of students during arrival and departure, supervising overall safety.They also post and retire the American and State flags daily

Future City Competition

Students create a working model of a city following criteria for state-wide competition

Geography Bee

Students participate in classroom geography contests competing in a school-wide contest.One winning student proceeds to a Regional contest

Students are recognized for academic abilities by participating in advanced assessment for state and national recognition

Lord's Prayer Signers

Students lead sign language during the singing of the Lord's Prayer at Masses

Service organization for middle school students who meet academic requirements

Students assist with Pre-Kindergarten children before the school day begins

Rosary Club

Students gather once a week to make rosaries for the needy while learning the prayers and mysteries of the Rosary

Students research topics and prepare written and visual presentations judged by community stakeholders in order to qualify for Regional and State competitions
