Middle School (6-8) Enrichments

Enrichment Description
Basic Computer Skills Students become proficient users of Microsoft Office 2007, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel with emphasis on usage in the classroom.
Advanced Computer

Students explore advanced computer concepts. Digital projects include podcasts, videos, and websites.

ictv3 Students film, edit, and produce the school's daily news broadcast using digital technology in the school's iMac lab.
Chorus Middle School Chorus provides vocal development through rounds, part singing and a variety of classic and folk literature ending the session with a concert and an opportunity to particpate in Solo and Ensemble Festival.
Handbells Students study music through hand bells with the opportunity to perform at seasonal programs.
Guitar I & II Students learn to read and play basic notes, chords, chord changes and songs while performing at liturgies and school programs.
CSI: Unwrapped Crime Scene Investigating just for students.  Students explore the world of science as they discover "whodunit" in crime cases in this hands-on science enrichment.
Country & Western Dancing Students learn basic 8-counts and steps in country and western partner dances and line dances.
Drama Students experience an introduction to theatre with opportunities to particpate in stage performances including a Winter and Spring production.

in the Game
Students boost their vocabulary, spelling, creative writing, problem solving, and critical thinking skills while having fun playing board games.
Needle Craft Students learn the traditional needle skill of crocheting creating items such as scarves, blankets, and other beginner projects.
Book Club Chill out at the library where students choose the books to read and lead the discussion.  Join us for a little R&R - reading and relaxing while we talk about what books mean to us.
Spanish I, II & III Students have the opportunity to understand, speak, read, and write the Spanish language.  They are also introduced to the nature and structure of the language.
Visual Arts Students increse their knowledge of the principles and elements of design through drawing, painting, and sculpting various projects.
Cheer Students who meet all the criteria to be an ICCS cheerleader learn motion techniques, dances, jumps, stunts, and pyramids.
Volleyball Students particpate in drills aimed at improving their volleyball skills and knowledge of strategies.
