UPPER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

2ND GRADE, 3RD GRADE, 4TH GRADE, AND 5TH GRADE

ICCS educators in the Upper Elementary Program focus on a unique balance of academic, moral, and social development that targets specific learning milestones. Our research-driven teaching methods and best classroom practices encourage collaboration, cooperation, and the development of independent thinking. Collaborative and differentiated activities are specifically utilized to foster cognitive growth. Through a strong exploratory-based curriculum and cooperative learning experiences, our students are provided with content-focused enriched studies that put them on the path to success in our Middle School Program and throughout their academic careers.

Religious Education & Faith Formation

Religious formation and spiritual development are at the heart of everything we do at Immaculate Conception Cathedral School. We live out the Catholic Faith as a school by providing the students with activities on the prayers of the Church and sacramental development:

  • Adoration
  • Advent Prayer Services
  • Annual ICCS Feast of St. Francis Pet Blessing
  • The Atrium (Catechesis of the Good Shepherd)
  • Catholic Schools Week
  • Class Led Service Projects
  • Confession (2nd-8th Grades)
  • Disciple of Christ--Education in Virtue Program (PK-8th Grade)
  • First Communion (2nd Grade)
  • First Penance (2nd Grade)
  • Friendzy (social-emotional curriculum)
  • Grade-Level Retreats
  • Lenten Prayer Services
  • Living Rosary Program
  • Living Stations of the Cross
  • May Crowning
  • Praise Band/Choir
  • School Masses
  • School-wide Daily Angelus or Regina Coeli Prayer

ICCS welcomes families of any faith. Students are required to participate in Catholic Theology classes. Theology is considered a core subject and grades are included in the report card. During school Masses, prayer services, and any religious activity/event, we ask that all students attend and are reverent.
