EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

We recognize the need for developing the whole child by teaching them skills achieved through leadership, working in groups, and service to the community. At ICCS, we encourage students of all ages, backgrounds, and talents to get involved and explore the many clubs, organizations, and extracurricular activities we have to offer.

Buddy Program: This special tradition connects our middle school students with our youngest learners in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade. Each middle school student is paired with a younger buddy, forming a unique bond that fosters leadership, mentorship, and friendship.

Cantors: 5th through 8th grade students who love to sing or play an instrument are invited to participate in school Masses.

Cathedral School Chorale: 3rd through 8th grade students who love singing and performing to participate in the Chorale. The Chorale leads the annual Festival of Lessons and Carols in December at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

National Junior Beta Club: ICCS is a member of the National Beta Club, the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America.  The ICCS Junior Beta Club meets regularly throughout the academic year and focuses on service-related projects and school and community involvement activities.

Praise Band: 6th through 8th grade students who love singing or playing an instrument may participate in Praise Band. This band performs at various school events, including Mass or as introductions to pep rallies.

Quiz Bowl Team: The Diocese of Lake Charles hosts a quiz bowl every year. Students compete with the knowledge they have obtained during their religious education. This team is open to 6th through 8th grade.

Robotics: This team gives middle school students the opportunity to explore science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in a fun and hands-on way. Team members work together to design, build, and program robots to complete exciting challenges. Along the way, students strengthen problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork skills while preparing for local and regional competitions.

Student Council: ICCS has a very active and involved Student Council organization.  Student representatives and leaders are selected and voted on by their peers in an effort to promote good citizenship and school spirit while contributing regularly to a Christian atmosphere.
