Each week, our Pre-K through 3rd grade students visit one of their favorite places, the Atrium. The “Atrium” is a special room at ICCS where students come together to pray, grow in their relationship with God, and explore the Bible and liturgy through hands-on activities as part of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program. Today, we were blessed to receive several works donated in loving memory of Patrick Rider and Deacon Glenn Viau. A heartfelt thank you to Claire and Shaine Rider, Christy and Chris Jones, Sonya and Chris Goodloe, Addie and Matt Johnson, Jade and Chris Abendroth, Haley and John Tarasiewicz, Kelly and Lance Hurt, and Melissa and Josh Priola for their generous contributions. We would also like to offer a special thank you to Deacon Viau's cousins, Mary and Gary Bernard, for their monetary donation to this extraordinary space. #iccspanthers

*Please be advised: The following images in this post are medical and may contain blood* Have you ever wondered how your body could enhance its ability to heal wounds? Yesterday in our middle school Medical Enrichment, Dr. Green demonstrated how a 3C Patch is created and explained how it accelerates wound healing. These patches are crafted entirely from different components of the patient’s blood—so what better way to teach the students than by creating a patch using his own blood! As seen in the images, Dr. Green had his blood drawn by one of his wound care nurses, who then demonstrated the process of using a centrifuge to separate and layer the blood components needed to form the patch. Once prepared, the patch can be applied directly to the patient’s wound—an incredible example of science and medicine in action! (The prepared patch can be seen "floating" on top of the vial) Dr. Green is such a valuable member of our ICCS community, particularly within this Medical Enrichment program. His dedication inspires our students to think critically about the future of medicine and their potential roles in the medical field. #iccspanthers
